Student: Enaya Ogletree

Internship Title: Gallery Interpreter

Arts and Culture Organization: Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute

Term: Summer 2025

Internship Summary and Reflection:

I began the summer working at the Clark Art Institute, under the education department as a Gallery Interpreter. Which is a fancy way of saying I conduct tours of the Permanent Collection and seasonal/ yearly contemporary art and special exhibitions. On a day-to-day basis I lead and or assist with 1-3 tours, which started up after an intensive 3-week training period. During my training period, I got familiar with the museum's campus and pedagogy, the faculty-- including curators of the exhibitions and collections I am currently touring. And in my downtime, I studied up on different artworks, conducting research and attending related lectures and events.

After training I was able to put my skills to the test and I began unraveling a newfound love

for talking about art. The challenge was learning how to share my finding while remaining

accessible and engaging. By week two it felt like second nature.
