“This exhibition is an invitation to the in\between — a proximal zone of time and space that holds the tensions and potentialities between what was, what is, and what can be.” - Dr Papa.

Ecologies of the In/Between is an installation that was curated by Professor Papa as well as a team of students from MCLA, Quinn Daugerty and Max Sweeney. The exhibit features four artists Johanna Hedva, CAConrad, Kelsey Shultis, and Báyò Akómoláfé. These artists work in a many different art practices that combine into a cohesive show. The exhibition explores the uncertainty of living in the modern world.
Sweeney wrote this about working on the project:

“I'm working on this exhibition as part of an independent study with Professor Papa in Visual Culture. As an art major, my role has mostly been creating graphics to promote the show. Professor Papa, Quinn, Lori Spencer, and I have worked collaboratively to come up with a unified design language that draws from different visual elements of the exhibition, aligns with the central themes of the artwork, and also looks compelling and generates curiosity about the project. I've been working in Affinity and Canva to make our ideas into several different graphics that we can use across platforms- like the MOSAIC social media pages, the exhibition website, printed flyers and postcards, and the official gallery guide which will be available at the opening. Most of our materials feature a handwritten title script that I developed over several stages of sharing and refining. It's been a delightful challenge to balance theme, visual appeal, accessibility, and the unique specifications of individual artists and their featured works.”
This exhibition will be on view until January 4th. There will be a talk by poet CAConrad in MOSAIC EventSpace on October 29th at 5 PM in tandem with the exhibition.
