Tomorrow (May 1st), the arts management class, Managing Creativity, will be putting on an event at MASS MoCA in collaboration with the museum. Managing Creativity was a class that was crafted by Lisa Donovan and Lisa Chamberlain last year to help grow collaboration between students and the museum, and also help students learn how to plan an event. During the version of the class last year students brainstormed what the best method would be to create more integration between the two campuses and this creative campus and presented it for a panel. Creating an event around the creative businesses was what was eventually decided on by the professors.

This year, students are working in every aspect of the process to bring this event to life, from contacting businesses on campus to organizing and drafting entertainment contracts. This is the pilot event for this class and will be a great opportunity to engage with the MCLA community and the greater North Adams community as well. Students have learned how to draft contracts for musicians, coordinate museum tours, and contact businesses for a spotlight. Students are learning teamwork, communication, and developing their values around creating a toolkit.
